Nomadic Announces New Service Offering: Panamanian Seaman’s Books
Nomadic is delighted to announce the launch of a new service offering: Panamanian Seaman's Book applications. This initiative strengthens our commitment to supporting maritime professionals and enhancing operational efficiency within the global shipping and energy sectors.
Recognized worldwide, the Panamanian Seaman's Book, also known as the Seafarer's Identification and Record Book, is an official document that certifies the holder as a Seaman, per The International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW). It serves as both an identification document and a record of a seafarer's maritime career, detailing employment history, sea service, and qualifications.
"We are thrilled to expand our service offerings with the addition of Panamanian Seaman's Books. In working with the relevant authorities and embassies, this new service aligns with our mission to support the maritime industry in procuring essential documents that ensure compliance with international regulations." - Neil Thomson, Nomadic Director, EMEA
Whilst the Seaman’s Book does not replace the requirement to hold a valid passport and correct travel visa, it can be used to assist the holder in certain situations when transiting and entering/exiting port state controls, as well as in the processing of work visa applications for certain destination countries.
Clients already onboarded with Nomadic can begin the application process for a Panamanian Seaman's Book via the Nomadic portal. For additional assistance, clients are encouraged to contact their Client Services Manager.
