Saudi Arabia Introduces Two-Year Multiple-Entry ETA for UK Nationals
Saudi Arabia has introduced a new multiple-entry Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for UK nationals, making short-term travel to the Kingdom more straightforward and flexible.
Valid for two years, the ETA allows travelers to enter Saudi Arabia multiple times and spend up to 180 days in the country during the authorization's validity period. It replaces the previous Electronic Visa Waiver scheme, which only permitted a single entry.
The ETA can be used for tourism, business visits and short-term study. However, it cannot be used for employment, residence or Hajj travel, which continue to require the appropriate visa.
Although Saudi authorities have not formally defined all business activities permitted under the ETA, feedback to date suggests it may be suitable for activities such as attending meetings, conferences, training sessions and corporate events. Travelers should assess planned activities carefully to ensure the ETA is appropriate for their intended purpose of travel.
For employers and frequent business travelers, the introduction of the ETA removes the need to obtain a new authorization for each trip, providing a more efficient option for multiple short-term visits to Saudi Arabia.
