Mozambique Pre-Travel Authorization for Visa-Exempt Travelers Temporarily Suspended
Mozambique’s National Immigration Service (NIS) issued a decree requiring visa-exempt nationals traveling for business or tourism to obtain pre-travel authorization at least 48 hours before their scheduled departure to Mozambique.
On May 16, 2025, the NIS announced in a press release a temporary suspension of this requirement due to technical issues preventing applicants from applying for this pre-travel authorization. During this temporary suspension period, eligible visa-exempt travelers can still enter Mozambique for tourism and business purposes without a visa.
No further details have been announced regarding when the temporary suspension of the pre-travel authorization will be lifted.
We are monitoring this situation and will report on relevant developments.
