China Adds Canada and UK to Visa-Free Program
February 16, 2026 | by Nomadic
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed via its website that it has extended its visa waiver policy to nationals of Canada and the UK.
Starting from February 17, 2026, ordinary passport holders from the two countries will not require a visa to enter China and may stay for up to 30 days for purposes of business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit.
The policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2026.
The change aligns the rules for Canadian and UK passport holders with those already applied to 50 other nations, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
